Hello fellow deviants!
Last year, I began a social work master's program. I'm still in it, and I'm getting along well in my final year. I've got internships at two mental health sites. In the past week, I've made my first clinical diagnosis, which felt like a milestone! From here on out, we will be doing psychological assessment and diagnosis, and soon I will be teaching anger management and chemical dependency classes.
One step closer to becoming a full-fledged social worker and therapist!
Now tell me about something good happening in YOUR life!
Loves,
Tiffany

Hello there!
Hello everyone! It's been a few years, but I decided to come back to deviantART to have an art community again. I'm in a different headspace than I was a few years ago. Even though I got my dream job in mental health, I realized I couldn't fill all my waking hours with work/psychology stuff without risking constant burnout. I've gotten back into art, but not with the intent to try to get good enough to sell it as commissions or T-shirt designs. This is all meant for my own enjoyment, and I must say it feel SO much better to approach it that way. I play and experiment and as a result have noticed changes and growth in my own skill and style. The COVID-19 quarantine has ensured plenty of time for me to practice. I'm moving away from anime as my main style and towards something ever so slightly more Western. I still have the dream of tuning up my old comic into something more cohesive and polished, and to a degree begun that journey, but I'm trying not to put too much pressure on
My fluffy little visitor.
I wanted to share a happy story of cuteness.
My mom came to visit me this past weekend. Upon opening the front door to go to church, we discovered that a very small tabby kitten was sitting there. She walked right in without hesitation. Without any thought of rabies or fleas, I scooped her up. She was a silver/gray tabby with white paws and the most beautiful wide eyes. She immediately began purring, snuggling under my chin, and cuddling close. My mom and I looked at each other, completely confused. I called the apartment leasing office and let them know that we had found a kitten. I left my phone and apartment number, but never heard back.
Thank you, Bronies!
Hello all!
I recently presented my Brony research ("What is a Brony and Why Should Social Workers Care?") at KASWE, a social work conference in Kentucky. People are really interested in this subject! There were several people who went so far as to research what a Brony is when they saw the title in the conference itinerary. Several approached me and said they had been looking forward to seeing research on Bronies! A social work professor even wants to incorporate a discussion of the Brony phenomenon in her feminism class. I will be sending her a copy of my paper so she can find some good resources to use.
Thank you to everyone who responded

Hello! Some of you may have seen my posts on a forum or in a group blog. Here's some information you might be interested in.
A little more about myself:
I am a social work graduate student, going for my Master's. I've been on deviantART for some eight years now, and have been keeping up with the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series. While I wouldn't consider myself a brony, I love the show and I love seeing the beautiful artwork that the fans create. The show, the creators, and the fans have wonderful qualities that I admire. My ultimate career goal is to become a therapist and to work with immigrants and refugees, representing the peo

Where did you go to school for your bachelors? And what's the degree called, if you don't mind me asking?
